Hauora (health/wellbeing) is a fundamental human need. It is a foundation on which members of our society can build and grow – personally, work & career, education, families and communities. There are too many people in Aotearoa today who are held back from participating in these things because they cannot see specialists or get onto surgery lists.
I am passionate about social justice and have been working in the people-helping fields all my adult life. From political action to a 20 year career in counselling though I currently work as a needs assessor for people with disabilities. I have a long history of working on behalf of community organisations. Our healthcare system in New Zealand is a taonga (treasure) – the envy of many other nations. Let’s not let it be further run down. I hope you will join us in this call to ensure good access to healthcare for all New Zealanders. |
